Take-n-Sew" kits at the Northfield Public Library

We now have "take-n-sew" kits available at the library.  They are on the HOLD shelf right by the self-checkouts on the main floor.

The library always needs more Boomerang Bags!
Our volunteers are SUPER!

415,000 is a big number!

FUN FACTS TO KNOW AND TELL

Northfield volunteers have sewn @4,000 Boomerang Bags made from donated fabric.
Translated into numbers is looks like this:

If each bag is used to haul books or groceries 1 time a week (and most of the bags can hold a lot of stuff) thus using 2 fewer single use plastic bags that equals 8,000 less bags used each week.
52 weeks in a year 415,000 less bags in a year.   And that’s just using it once a week- how many times a week do you use a Boomerang Bag?
Plus we have taken many, many pounds of unused fabric out of the garbage stream too!

The library needs more fabric!

Now thru Feb. 3rd you can drop off your clean, durable fabric donations at the Northfield Public Library!  The fabric will be made into "Take-n-Sew" kits to be sewn into Boomerang Bags for the library.  We have @1,200 bags circulating around the library and we have reduced the need to purchase so many plastic bags.
