The project at the Northfield Senior Center was AMAZING!
We had such a great response at the senior center - over 400 new Boomerang Bags will be created with the donated fabric. You can now pick up "Take-n-Sew" kits up there and the Used A Bit Shoppe.

Northfield Senior Center is getting involved!
We are joining forces with the
Northfield Senior Center!
August1st: Fabric collection begins! Fabric must be clean, prints or solids, sheets to light upholstery fabric at least 1 yard. Bring fabric to NSC or the Used-a-Bit Shoppe.
10 am to 2 pm Thursday, August 31st and Friday, September 1st: Volunteers create “Take-n-sew” kits for people to sew at home and return finished bags to NSC. NSC room TBA.
The bags will be available (at no charge) for Northfield residents to use over and
over again and will be available at the Northfield Senior Center and the Used-a-Bit Shoppe.
Help us remove the need for so many plastic bags in Northfield!

Another fabric collection set at the library!
There are around 400 Boomerang Bags in circulation at the library. And we need more! The library normally goes thru @100 plastic bags a month, so we have made a dent but need more! Fabric collection begins Monday, June 26th you can drop off clean fabric from crisp sheets to light upholstery fabric at least 1 yard long.
We will need volunteers for the "take-n-sew" kit creation date is Saturday, July 8th from 10-2 in the library's meeting room. No sewing skills required to help make up kits with bag, handles and pockets.
We will set out the kits for people to take and sew. And repeat this all in the fall.
